P-NET ring topology is the traditional way of installing P-NET.
The P-NET cable is connected to a number of devices in a way that forms a physical ring.
Each device on the ring is connected using the same principle.
Devices on the P-NET ring can be connected or disconnected during operation without any disturbance of communication between the remaining devices.

A bus segment can have a maximum length of 1200 metres and can contain up to 125 devices.
