Info note
Running VIGO 5.9 on Microsoft Windows 10
“Windows 10 is very similar to Windows 8 under the hood, and Windows 8 was very similar to Windows 7.
There are no huge application security model or driver architecture changes, as there were when moving from Windows XP to Windows Vista, or Windows XP to Windows 7. In other words, if it runs on Windows 7 or 8, it’s almost guaranteed to run on Windows 10.”
VIGO 5.9 has been tested on Windows 10 pro x64 and no major issues occurred.
In relation to VIGO, we see no problems upgrading from Windows 7/8/8.1 to Windows 10.
VIGO 5.9 is not able to run on Windows 10 Mobile or Windows 10 IoT Core.
It has been observed that the PD 3950 USB to P-NET interface is fully operational despite that Windows 10 may select the driver “USB Serial Device (ComX)” when connecting the PD 3950. This is shown in the Device Manager, section Ports (COM & LPT). To overcome this minor issue, the USB driver can be updated manually. After this operation, the driver “PD3950 USB to P-NET Interface” will appear in the Device Manager.
VIGO 5.9 must be installed before connecting the PD 3950 USB to P-NET Interface.
If the PD 3950 USB to P-NET Interface is not installed properly, it is shown in the Device Manager as well as by the fact that none of the LEDs of the interface module are lit. Disabling the driver signature enforcement in Windows 10 may be required. More information about this topic can be found on the web.
In the event of a critical error occurring while running VIGO, Visual VIGO or one of the associated programs, please send a detailed error report to Support.
